Today was interesting, especially after last night.
In a nutshell:
- Woke up at 5AM & checked the Sump Pump - Good to Go!
- It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to make the normal 35 minute ride to school/work
- School was FLOODED and CLOSED for the day
- Da Boyz accompanied me to work so I could grab my computer & work remotely
- Worked at our "large" kitchen table (I know I could work this in again...!)
- Went out to dinner where, while in the restroom with both boys, Kyle had a full nuclear meltdown
- He was exhausted and some thing set him off - he screamed at the TOP OF HIS LUNGS for 5+ minutes. We were in a small restaurant and there was no getting away from it.
- We recovered after 15 minutes in the restroom (If you are reading this and happened to be in this restaurant and waiting for the restroom, we are sorry for the inconvenience - we'll try not to let it happen again).
- We shuffled back to the table where our Italian dinners had cooled off substantially.
- We got through the rest of the meal, drove home and got the boys into bed - where they are presently.
I hope this was a "get it out of your system before we leave on the trip" event. We eat at this place very frequently and have never had a situation like this before. Oh well...we'll see.
He seemed fully recovered as he went to bed - I hope he's OK.
A meltdown of this magnitude of a 12-hour flight would not be good (said Charlie, in the understatement of the year).
Anyway tomorrow's another day...LOTS to do.
More soon.
